  These systems operate over RF bands to transmit instrument signals–requiring detailed RF testing and compliance with frequency regulations.

• Bluetooth Amp
  Amps with Bluetooth streaming or control features fall under RF and EMC regulations in both regions.

• Instrument Transmitter
  Whether for guitars, keyboards, or other instruments, wireless transmitters must comply with FCC Part 15 and CE RED standards.

• Wireless Microphone
  These are heavily regulated due to their RF transmissions, needing precise frequency, power output, and spurious emission testing.

• Stage Monitor
  If your monitor includes wireless connectivity or digital processing, it will require EMC testing and possibly RF certification.

• Instrument Tuner
  Tuners with Bluetooth or app integration must meet RF compliance standards in addition to typical EMC requirements.

• Guitar Pedals
  Digital or programmable pedals, especially those with USB, Bluetooth, or wireless control, require emissions testing and compliance documentation.

For the U.S., FCC certification applies to any device emitting radio frequency energy–whether it’s a wireless mic transmitting audio or a digital pedal generating unintentional emissions. Most audio equipment falls under FCC Part 15, covering:

• RF testing for wireless devices (Bluetooth, proprietary RF, etc.)

• EMC testing for digital circuits, amplifiers, and signal processors

• Compliance with frequency allocation and power output limits

For Europe, CE certification is required. Depending on your product, you’ll likely need to comply with:

• The Radio Equipment Directive (RED) for wireless audio gear

• The EMC Directive for electromagnetic compatibility

• The Low Voltage Directive (LVD) for powered equipment or devices with AC adapters

FCC certification requires accredited lab testing and possibly formal authorization for RF devices. CE is a self-declaration process, but you’re still responsible for full compliance and maintaining technical documentation.
