By law, electronic devices capable of emitting radio frequency (RF) energy are required to meet the requirements set under FCC Part 15 in order to enter the US market.

If you’re located in Brazil and plan to market your device in the United States, you’ll need to test your device with an accredited lab partner and receive equipment authorization from the FCC in the form of FCC certification or a Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC).

Selling your device in the United States without FCC equipment authorization puts you at risk of legal action from the FCC, including significant fines.

We Can Help You Get FCC Certification in Brazil

If you’re based in Brazil and need to get FCC certification for your device, we can help you. Our electronics testing lab is recognized by the FCC as a Telecommunications Certification Body, or TCB, allowing us to test your device and provide FCC certification.

We specialize in working with clients located outside the United States and can provide expert, ongoing help with shipping your device to and from our testing lab and all other steps of the lab testing and certification process.

FCC Certification is Mandatory for USA Market Access

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is responsible for regulating use of the radio frequency spectrum in the United States. To maintain safe and efficient use of the RF spectrum, the FCC has established performance standards for devices capable of producing RF waves.

These standards ensure that consumer, business and industrial devices do not interfere with the functioning of radio-based communications networks.

To comply with FCC Part 15, your device will need to meet the minimum standards for radiated emissions (radio waves emitted from your device), conducted emissions (noise transmitted via power or signal lines) and electromagnetic immunity (performance when exposed to RF).

All electronic devices that can emit radio frequency waves are subject to FCC Part 15. Devices are classed as intentional radiators (devices that emit RF waves deliberately) and unintentional radiators (devices that emit RF waves as an unintended byproduct of their design).

Furthermore, devices are regulated as Class A or Class B devices based on their intended use environment. The specific type and class of your device could affect its testing and certification requirements under the FCC Part 15 regulations.

As specialists in FCC testing and compliance, our engineers can answer your questions about the testing and equipment authorization process for your device.
