In the United States, electronic devices capable of emitting radio frequency (RF) energy need to comply with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, including FCC Part 15

FCC Part 15 is designed to ensure that devices that use the radio frequency spectrum operate in a safe, effective manner, without causing electromagnetic interference (EMI) that may affect communications systems.

If you’re located in China and plan to sell your device in the United States, you will need to test your device in an accredited laboratory and receive FCC equipment authorization (typically as FCC certification) before going to market.

We Can Help You Get FCC Certification in China

As an accredited electronics testing lab and FCC-recognized Telecommunication Certification Body (TCB), we can test your device to verify that it complies with FCC Part 15 and complete the FCC certification process on your behalf.

This grants your device equipment authorization and an FCC ID, allowing you to legally start selling your electronic device in the United States.

Open since 1963, we’ve helped hundreds of businesses and individuals achieve certification across thousands of unique devices, including consumer electronics products, industrial and medical equipment, and other devices.

To request a free, no-obligation quote for FCC testing and certification, or to ask our engineers and compliance specialists your questions about the certification process, contact us online or call us at 866-540-5287.

FCC Certification is Mandatory for Selling in the USA

All countries have electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations that apply to consumer and industrial electronic devices. In the United States, EMC regulations are set by the FCC and are applied to all consumer, industrial and medical devices under FCC Part 15 and FCC Part 18

By law, all devices that fall under Part 15 and/or Part 15 are required to complete testing with a recognized testing lab and achieve FCC equipment authorization, either via FCC certification or the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) process.

This process involves testing your device’s radiated emissions, conducted emissions, and level of electromagnetic immunity to verify that it operates within the standards set under Part 15.

Selling your device in the United States without FCC certification puts you at risk of legal action from the FCC. The FCC regularly applies fines to businesses with non-compliant products, and many US-based retailers will only stock devices with a valid FCC ID.

What Devices Need FCC Certification?

FCC regulations apply to all electronic devices capable of emitting radio frequency emissions or causing electromagnetic interference. All consumer and commercial devices are required to get FCC authorization before going onto the market.
