We Work With Businesses in Spain

If you’re located in Spain and need help achieving FCC certification for your device, we can help you. We regularly work with clients in Spain and can facilitate fast, convenient delivery of your device to our accredited testing lab.

Click the “Talk to Our Team” button to the right to contact our engineering and compliance team to request a free quote for your device or ask a question about the FCC certification process.

If you’re located in Spain and want to sell your electronic device in the United States, you’ll need to complete FCC testing and receive FCC certification for legal market access.

By law, electronic devices sold in the United States are required to comply with FCC regulations such as FCC Part 15. These regulations are separate from CE compliance, meaning even if you have completed the compliance process in Europe, you will still need certification for the USA.

We Can Help You Get FCC Certification in Spain

We specialize in FCC testing and compliance, and can test your device in our ANSI-accredited facility and help you achieve FCC certification for your device.

Our facility is an FCC-recognized Telecommunication Certification Body (TCB), meaning that in addition to completing testing for your device, we can complete the certification process on your behalf and help you receive an FCC ID for your electronic device.

We regularly work with clients throughout Europe, including Spain, and can organize convenient and secure shipping for your device from your location in Spain to our testing facility.

To ask our engineers and compliance specialists a question, or to request a free, no-obligation quote for testing and certifying your device, contact us online or call us at 866-540-5287.

FCC Certification is Required for Access to the USA Market

By law, all electronic devices sold in the United States capable of emitting radio frequency (RF) energy are required to comply with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

The FCC is the government agency that’s responsible for regulating use of the radio frequency spectrum. When devices produce radio frequency interference, they can disrupt the functioning of radio, TV and/or emergency communications systems.

FCC Part 15, the regulation that applies to electronic devices, sets limits for radiated emissions, conducted emissions and electromagnetic immunity (your device’s ability to tolerate RF energy produced by other devices) to ensure devices can function in a shared environment.

The FCC Part 15 rules apply to all electronic devices capable of emitting RF emissions, even if these emissions are not produced deliberately.

For example, electronic devices such as smartphones and Wi-Fi routers, which are designed to emit radio frequency for communications, are classified as intentional radiators.

Devices such as home appliances, which do not emit RF for communications, are classified as unintentional radiators and still require testing and FCC authorization, as their components and circuit board layout may still produce RF energy as a byproduct of their normal operation.

Our engineers can inform you about the regulatory status of your device, testing requirements, and the general compliance and certification process.

Device Types That Need FCC Certification

FCC Part 15 (and FCC Part 18, the equivalent regulation for industrial, scientific and medical equipment) apply to almost all electronic devices sold in the United States.

Common device types that fall under FCC Part 15 and thus require FCC certification include:

  • Smartphones and other mobile devices
  • Cordless phones, remotes and control devices
  • TVs, Hi-Fi systems and other home entertainment equipment
  • Dishwashers, microwaves and other home appliances
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Internet of Things (IoT) devices
  • Electronic musical instruments and recording devices
  • Computers, printers, keyboards and other peripherals
  • Security cameras and other home security systems
  • Commercial and industrial electronic devices and equipment
  • Other consumer electronics
