In order to market an electronic device in the United States, your device must comply with FCC Part 15, a part of the Code of Federal Regulations that sets requirements for electronic devices that emit radio frequency (RF) energy.

If you are located in Indonesia and plan to market your device, you will need to test your device with an accredited testing lab and receive FCC certification before bringing your device onto the market in the United States.

As an ANSI-accredited electronics testing laboratory and FCC-recognized Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB), we specialize in electronic device testing and certification for the FCC mark, CE mark, ISED and other electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations.

If you’re located in Indonesia and want to bring your device to market in the United States, our team can assist you with every step in the FCC certification process, including safely shipping your device from your location in Indonesia to our accredited testing facility.

FCC Certification is Required for USA Market Access

In the United States, the Federal Communications Commission, or FCC, regulates use of the radio frequency spectrum. FCC Part 15 is a part of the Code of Federal Regulations that sets minimum standards for electronic devices capable of emitting radio frequencies.

These performance standards exist to prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI), which can affect other devices and communications systems.

To comply with FCC Part 15, you will need to test your device in an accredited lab to verify it’s compliant with the minimum performance standards. Testing involves measuring your device’s radiated emissions, conducted emissions and electromagnetic immunity

Electronic devices are classified as intentional radiators (devices, such as phones, that use the radio spectrum intentionally) and unintentional radiators (devices that emit radio frequencies as a result of their design and/or components).

Depending on your device type, you may be able to achieve FCC equipment authorization via the FCC certification or Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) process.

As specialists in FCC testing and compliance, our engineers can answer your questions about the testing and equipment authorization process for your device.
