FCC Certification & United States Market Access

Under FCC Part 15, all electronic devices need to demonstrate that they operate within certain limits for electromagnetic emissions and immunity. These include limits for radiated emissions, conducted emissions and electromagnetic immunity.

These limits exist to protect the radio frequency spectrum and stop consumer electronics and industrial equipment from interfering with radio frequency communications systems.

Receiving FCC equipment authorization involves testing your device in an accredited lab and completing either the FCC certification process or a procedure called an SDoC, or Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity.

All devices that are subject to FCC Part 15 must complete this process. Selling a device that does not comply with FCC Part 15 and lacks equipment authorization is illegal, and the FCC may impose fines or other penalties on your business.

As specialists in FCC testing, we can help you efficiently and affordably complete the testing and FCC certification process, granting your device US market access.

What Devices Need FCC Testing & Certification?

FCC Part 15 applies to all electronic devices that can emit radio frequency energy, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Almost all consumer electronics and industrial equipment are required to comply with FCC Part 15 or related regulations.

Devices that require FCC certification in the United States include:

  • Smartphones and other mobile devices
  • Cordless phones, remotes and control devices
  • TVs, Hi-Fi systems and other home entertainment equipment
  • Dishwashers, microwaves and other home appliances
