When considering the sale of wireless technologies and electronic products that can interfere with other products in the US and other markets, there are a few key factors that need to be adhered to by the manufacturer according to the FCC.
They include:
- Does the manufacturer have its own wireless module, or is it using a wireless module from another manufacturer?
- What are the FCC requirements of the transmitter or transmitter module(s) used?
- Is the device used on or near the head or body?
- Is the product part of a product family?
- Does the owner of the product want an FCC Certification in its own legal name versus the name of the manufacturer of the wireless module?
- Will the wireless module manufacturer allow its device to receive an FCC Grant in another company’s name?
- Will the wireless module manufacturer allow its device to be set in the appropriate test mode for FCC Testing?
