If you are manufacturing an electronic device and plan to market it in the European Union, you will need to complete the CE testing and certification process.
Completing CE certification grants you the right to affix the CE marking to your device and sell your product in the European Economic Area (EEA, or the EU countries, in addition to Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein).
We Can Help You Get CE Certification in Italy
As an accredited electronics testing and compliance lab, we can help you complete lab testing and get CE certification for your device. We specialize in testing for electronic devices and can provide CE testing, as well as certification for FCC (USA) and ISED (Canada).

CE Certification is Required for Access to the EU Market
By law, electronic devices sold in the European Union must comply with all relevant directives regarding their safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
These regulatory directives are part of Conformité Européenne (CE, or European Conformity), the system through which the European Union determines conformity with health, safety and environmental standards.
If your device demonstrates compliance with EU regulatory directives through laboratory tests, it’s eligible to display the CE marking and enter the European market. Electronic devices with the CE marking are eligible to enter the market throughout the European Economic Area.
Several EU regulatory directives apply to electronic devices, including the following:
- Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive. The EMC Directive establishes limits and standards for electromagnetic interference (EMI). Your device will need to show that it operates within limits for radiated emissions and conducted emissions.
- Radio Equipment Directive (RED). The Radio Equipment Directive applies to devices that use the radio frequency (RF) spectrum for communications, such as cellular, Wi-Fi, and/or Bluetooth devices.
- Low Voltage Directive (LVD). The Low Voltage Directive is an EU safety regulation that applies to electronic devices within the 15 to 1,000 volts AC/75 to 1,500 volts DC voltage ranges.
- Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. The RoHS Directive applies to electronic devices and limits the use of harmful materials such as lead, mercury and others.
List of Electronic Devices That Require CE Certification
