To enter into the European market, your device must complete the CE certification process by demonstrating compliance in lab testing.

As an accredited electromagnetic compatibility and compliance testing lab, we can help you to test your device, verify compliance, and gain the CE certification/CE mark required to sell your device in Europe.

CE Certification is Mandatory for Selling Your Device in Europe

Devices sold in the European Economic Area (the European Union countries, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) are required, by law, to comply with all relevant EU directives.

These directives set standards for electromagnetic compatibility and performance, as well as device safety. Your device must comply with all relevant directives in order to display the CE mark and enter the European market.

Electronic devices are subject to numerous EU directives. One or several of the directives listed below may apply to your electronic device:

  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive. The EMC Directive sets standards to ensure your device does not cause electromagnetic interference (EMI). Your device will need to demonstrate compliance with radiated and conducted emissions limits.
  • Radio Equipment Directive (RED). The Radio Equipment Directive, or RED, applies to devices that use the radio frequency (RF) spectrum. It sets clear performance standards to prevent radio frequency interference.
  • Low Voltage Directive (LVD). The Low Voltage Directive applies to devices that operate in the 15 to 1,000 volts AC or 75 to 1,500 volts DC voltage ranges and sets standards for electrical safety.
  • Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. This directive restricts use of harmful materials, such as lead, mercury, cadmium and others, in devices sold within the European Economic Area.
