If you are located in China and intend to market your electronic device in the European Union (EU), you will need to complete lab testing to verify that your device complies with all relevant regulatory directives.
This process is referred to as CE certification, and it allows you to affix the CE marking to your device and market your device in Europe.
We specialize in electronic device testing and offer CE testing and certification for electronics, allowing you to test and certify your device quickly and easily to gain EU market access.
We Can Help You Get CE Certification in China
By law, electronic devices sold in the European Economic Area (EEA, a common market that consists of all European Union countries, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) must comply with all relevant EU directives.
If you are located in China and plan to market your device in the European Economic Area, it needs to be lab tested to verify that it meets these requirements.
As an ANSI-accredited electronics testing lab, we specialize in device testing and certification. Our experienced team of engineers can test your device and help you achieve CE, FCC, and other certifications and compliance marks.
We frequently work with clients in China and can assist you with the entire process of CE and FCC testing and certification, including shipping your device from your location in China to our accredited testing facility.
To ask our engineers a question, or to request a quote for CE certification for your device, you can contact us online or call us at 866-540-5287.
CE Certification is Mandatory for Electronic Devices in Europe
In order to enter the European Economic Area market, your device must be tested to confirm that it complies with all relevant directives. Testing your advice and confirming that it complies with relevant directives grants CE certification and allows for legal market access.
In the European Union, several directives apply to electronic devices. Common directives that play a role in CE testing and certification for electronics include:
- Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive. The EMC Directive uses standards for electronic devices to prevent electromagnetic interference (EMI). Your device must demonstrate that its emissions and immunity meet minimum standards.
- Radio Equipment Directive (RED). The Radio Equipment Directive is a regulation that applies to devices that use the radio frequency (RF) spectrum. It sets performance limits to prevent RF interference and promote effective use of the radio spectrum.
- Low Voltage Directive (LVD). The Low Voltage Directive covers potential health and safety risks that apply to electronic devices that operate in the 15 to 1,000 volts AC and 75 to 1,500 volts DC ranges.
- Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive. The RoHS Directive restricts the use of harmful substances, such as lead, cadmium, mercury and others, in electronic devices.
The specific directives that apply to your device may vary based on your device’s type, design, components and other factors. Our team can examine your device and explain the regulations that apply and the required testing for CE certification.
